Invisible Heart

I write best in public places, surrounded by strangers, coffee at hand.  I have a few familiar haunts around town, and in those places am known by baristas and fellow regulars.

Today, a pair of well dressed, carefully coifed older women, perhaps my mother’s age or older, began talking about the Prairie Fiber Arts Center, my Local Yarn Store (and the place I teach crochet classes.)  My ears pricked up and I could not help but ask which classes they were talking about.  They both were knitters, and we chatted about the fiber arts, before the real reason for their meeting became apparant.  One, Mary Emerson, had recently published a book!

Invisible Heart, by Mary Emerson

They were the most delightful women and warmed my heart with human connection in the midst of a lonely, gloomy autumn.  Mary’s book is available on Amazon and at Melberg’s Christian Book Store.
